Absolutely Mandy - a £5 item worn once costs £5, a £500 item worn 500 times costs £1.

Good tips! And so true. I encourage my clients to consider the cost per wear, not the initial cost. The price of the piece you've never worn (probably bought in a jumble sale) is very high compared to something initially more expensive, but something you'll wear a lot.

Great article Kathy!

I usually take things that go together and a few gorgeous outfits for evening. Some sarongs are great as you can use them as a skirt for the evening.

Always still end up taking too much as you never know what the weather is going to be like - hot place sometimes doesn't always stay hot. Went to corfu years ago and it rained all week :0(

Totally agree Zena - folk take far too much away with them. However, with a few 'rules' in place to help make decisions about what to take you don't have to go through the pack/unpack process at all - a little planning and a few 'rules' saves time and a lighter suitcase :-)

O for the days when I had a 'Weekenders' wardrobe, & packing was simple! My tip? Pack your case - then remove one third of the contents. Your case will be lighter - and you won't miss what isn't there.
